CEO & Founder

One educator. Two schools. Sixteen years.

“What greater joy is there than to spend our days surrounded by children, part of their journey of exploration and discovery? They are funny, sweet, loving and curious, and each one is special and unique. I began this journey in 2010 with a vision to create something special for children and families — and to make the world a kinder, better place, one child at a time. I am an educator, an entrepreneur and a mom of three.

My goals are very different from our direct competitors, who are all about being the biggest, with endless expansion of chains and franchises. My focus is the expansion of young minds and delivering excellence on a small scale. I have built an exceptional team of educators, and I am accessible and dedicated to leading our two early-learning centers — enhancing your child’s experience each year with creativity and love.”

— Leah Retamozo, MEd · Founder & CEO since 2010

Director, Human Resources & Compliance · since 2020

I am passionate about early childhood education and being present for children during such an important stage of their lives. As a preschool teacher, it was an honor to watch each child discover the world, develop new skills, gain confidence, and find their identity. As a Director, I use my experience as a teacher to support and improve the work of the entire team and contribute to the well-being of the whole community.

Siempre aprendiendo

We invest in our teachers

Professional, consistent, well-trained, supported. Our teaching team includes lead classroom teachers, classroom support, and floats who cover absences and vacations — all in service of quality, consistency and communication.

Retention

We work to find, hire and retain the best teachers through high expectations, a competitive pay and bonus structure, benefits, opportunities for growth and professional development, mentorship and coaching, a great work environment, and authentically valuing each person’s contribution.

Meeting state requirements

Teachers and classroom support pass state background checks; meet requirements for Lead, Assistant or Aide designation; complete safe-sleep (SUIDS), abusive-head-trauma, pediatric first-aid and CPR training; and complete ongoing annual training.

Coaching & support

Teachers and classroom support complete comprehensive orientation and training, then receive ongoing mentoring and support to implement our program with proven success.

Professional development

We encourage, support and pay for teachers to complete a Child Development Associate (CDA) program, and each staff member works toward individual professional-development goals.

Promoting from within

Each of our administrators started in the classroom, and each lead teacher began as a classroom assistant. Our well-developed training program prepares teachers to deliver our proven program consistently at both centers.
